Bathurst is a regional city in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia. It is approximately 200 kilometres (120 mi) west-northwest of Sydney and is the seat of the Bathurst Regional Council. Bathurst is the oldest inland settlement in Australia and had an estimated population of 37,541 as at June 2018.

Bathurst is located on the western edge of the Great Dividing Range in the Macquarie River plain. The city is located adjacent to the Macquarie River which is part of the Murray-Darling basin. The city is protected by a levee bank to protect the city from occasional floods.

Bathurst is serviced by a regional airport, Bathurst Airport, with flights to Sydney. Bathurst is also serviced by two railway lines, the Main Western line and the Zig Zag line. The Main Western line provides a direct service to Sydney. The Zig Zag line provides a service to Lithgow and beyond.

The city is also serviced by a number of bus companies, such as Greyhound, which provide services to Sydney and other regional centres. There are also a number of taxi services available in the city.

Bathurst is a popular tourist destination, with attractions such as the National Motor Racing Museum, the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum and the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery. The city also has a number of parks and gardens, as well as the Bathurst Showground, which hosts a number of events throughout the year.
