It is the second-largest airport in the country after Frankfurt Airport and one of the few airports in Germany with two runways. The airport is a hub for cargo airline DHL Express and is also served by a number of passenger airlines, including Lufthansa, Eurowings, Ryanair and Wizz Air.
The airport is located around 12 miles (19 km) from the city center of Leipzig and is easily accessible by car or public transport. The A14 motorway connects the airport to the city and the A9 motorway connects it to Berlin. There is also a direct train connection to the city center, with trains running every 30 minutes. The journey time is around 15 minutes.
The airport has two terminals, one for domestic and one for international flights. The domestic terminal has four gates and the international terminal has 15 gates. In the booking it said that a rental care would be provided in terminal 1 of frankfurt airport; in the voucher it said that the car would be provided in terminal 2 of the airport. transport between the terminals is easy and it does not really matter, it's just a bit confusing.
