Halkidiki is a peninsula in the northern part of Greece. It is located on the eastern side of the country and is known for its stunning beaches, lush forests, and picturesque villages. The region is divided into three parts – Kassandra, Sithonia, and Mount Athos. Each of these parts offers a unique experience to visitors.
Kassandra is the most popular and developed part of Halkidiki. It is home to some of the best beaches in the region, such as Kriopigi, Kalithea, and Sani Beach. The villages of Kassandra are also worth exploring, as they offer a glimpse into the traditional Greek lifestyle. Sithonia is the middle part of Halkidiki and is known for its secluded beaches, lush forests, and traditional villages. The most popular beach in Sithonia is Vourvourou, which is known for its crystal clear waters and stunning scenery.
Mount Athos is the third part of Halkidiki and is home to the famous monasteries of the Holy Mountain. The area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to some of the most important monasteries in the Orthodox faith. It is also known for its stunning views and picturesque landscape. Visitors can explore the monasteries, hike in the forests, and take part in religious activities.
