The city of Pompei is easily accessible by train from Naples. The Circumvesuviana train takes around 30 minutes to get to the Pompei Scavi-Villa dei Misteri station. The ruins of Pompei are open daily from 8:30am to 7:30pm, with extended opening hours during the summer months. An entrance ticket to the ruins costs €15 for adults and €7.50 for children. For an additional fee, you can also book a guided tour of the ruins.
