Dudley is a town in the West Midlands of England, 6 miles (9.7 km) south-east of Wolverhampton and 10.5 miles (16.9 km) north-west of Birmingham. It is the administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley and in 2011 had a population of 79,379.

The town is served by two railway stations, Dudley Port and Dudley. Both are on the Birmingham–Wolverhampton line and are operated by West Midlands Railway. Dudley Port station is also served by services from Birmingham to Shrewsbury and Walsall to Wolverhampton. The nearest airport is Birmingham Airport, located approximately 22 miles (35 km) away.

The main road through the town is the A461. The A4123 Wolverhampton to Birmingham road and the A449 Kidderminster to Stafford road also pass through the town. The M5 motorway is located approximately 8 miles (13 km) away.

Dudley is served by the Midland Metro tram system, with a stop at Dudley Port railway station. Buses are operated by National Express West Midlands and Diamond West Midlands, with services to Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Stourbridge, Halesowen and Kidderminster.
