Kokomo is a city located in north-central Indiana, United States. It is the county seat of Howard County. The population was 46,113 at the 2010 census. Kokomo is Indiana's 13th-largest city and is the principal city of the Kokomo, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Howard and Tipton counties. Kokomo's economy is largely based on manufacturing, and is known as the "City of Firsts," as it was the site of several inventions, including the first brass era car, the first gasoline pump, and the first motion picture theater.
