Tenafly is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. It is a suburb of New York City, located 15 miles (24 km) northwest of Midtown Manhattan. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 14,488, reflecting an increase of 617 (+4.4%) from the 13,871 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 743 (+5.7%) from the 13,128 counted in the 1990 Census.

Tenafly is located at 40°54′6″N 73°59′36″W (40.901657, -73.993378). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough had a total area of 5.184 square miles (13.401 km2), including 5.148 square miles (13.312 km2) of land and 0.036 square miles (0.089 km2) of water (0.70%).

Tenafly is served by the New Jersey Transit Pascack Valley Line at the Tenafly station, which provides service to Hoboken Terminal, Secaucus Junction and Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan. NJ Transit also provides bus service on the 166 route between the Tenafly train station and the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan, on the 753 route between Tenafly and the George Washington Bridge Bus Station, and on the 755 and 756 routes between Tenafly and the Journal Square Transportation Center in Jersey City.

Tenafly is bordered by Alpine, Cresskill, Englewood Cliffs, Bergenfield, New Milford, and Dumont. Tenafly is located in the New York metropolitan area and is part of the Hackensack River watershed. The borough is home to a variety of parks and nature preserves, including the Tenafly Nature Center, which is a nature preserve and education center that is open to the public. Tenafly is also home to several historic sites, including the Tenafly Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
