Itaberai is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Goiás. It is located in the Mesoregion of the Central-West Region and in the Microregion of the same name. It is located at an altitude of 890m and has an area of ​​1,921 km2. According to the 2020 census, the population of Itaberai was 8,831 inhabitants.

The municipality is located in the northwest of the state, approximately 200 km from the state capital, Goiânia. It is bordered by the municipalities of Morrinhos, Padre Bernardo, Quirinópolis, and Minaçu. Itaberai is part of the metropolitan area of ​​Goiânia, the capital of Goiás.

The main economic activities of the municipality are agriculture and livestock farming. The main agricultural products are corn, beans, soybeans, and cotton. Livestock farming is also important, with cattle, pigs, and chickens being the main animals raised. The municipality is also known for its production of cheese.

Itaberai has a number of tourist attractions, such as the Itaberai Ecological Park, which features a variety of flora and fauna, and the Serra da Mesa National Park, which is a protected area of ​​forest and grassland.
